The first two weeks

I have just finished my first two weeks with Tangible ux. I am acclimating to working from home and have to make the extra effort to stay in touch with friends – dinners, brunch, events etc. – rather than relying on socializing at work. I am tending to get a LOT more done in general, although after the first two weeks, I realized I hadn’t done any photography or photo work since actually starting. Sitting all day at my computer is quite a deterrent to spending all evening at the computer.

I am enjoying the outreach, however. Catching up with old coworkers who are now consulting and looking into the possibilities of collaborating again. The cold calling – I am looking for developers we can work with on an ongoing basis – is about to begin and I am more nervous about that. It’s not like I actually have a project yet – just trying to get to know people and their capabilities so that when the time comes, I know who to call on with the right skills.

The best part though, is that I already have a solid opportunity for my first project or group of projects and a couple of other potentials to explore next week. If these come through, then I may be busy into next year. Not bad for a couple weeks of work.

So far, so good – and no regrets!
