Raymond
Lufkin, known primarily for his scratchboard illustrations studied
with Vesper Lincoln George, Philip Hale, Vojecht Preissig and George
Bridgeman. He freelanced in Boston for fifteen years and relocated
to New York in 1933. He illustrated for Harper and Bros., Little Brown
and Co., American Book Co. and Marchbanks press. His work was included
in the AIGA Fifty Books of the Year 1937.
