Russel
Limbach grew up in Ohio and studied at the Cleveland School of Art
and in Paris and Vienna. He served as a technical expert on color
lithography fro the New York City WPA from 1935 to 1940. His work
is in the collections of Brooklyn Museum, the New York Public Library,
the San Fransisco Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
He was professor of painting at Wesleyan University in Connecticut.
