Joe Leboit

1907 - 2002

Joseph Leboit studied at the City College of New York and at the Art Student's League with Thomas Benton. He was a WPA artist from 1935 in the Graphic Arts project, creating lithographs, etchings and woodcuts. In 1938 he moved into the Silk Screen Unit under Anthony Velonis. During the war he held the staff artists position at PM newspaper. His work has been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the ACA Gallery. He taught at the American Artists School in 1940-41.
