Andre
Szenes Dugo was born in Hungary and studied architecture at the
College of technology in Budapest. He served in the Hungarian Army
during World War I and received his degree after the war. He studied
art in Munich and exhibited his work in Munich and Budapest. He
emigrated to New York in 1939 after several years in Paris. He worked
as an illustrator, caricaturist and author of children's books.
His work appeared in Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Mademoiselle
and Charm. In addition to his magazine contributions, he illustrated
the National Tuberculosis Christmas Seals for 1943 and 1950.
