Jere Donovan

1916 - 1982

Jere Donovan studied with Herbert Bayer through the American Advertising Guild.

Donovan was an artist and cartographer who trained at the Pratt Institute and the Art Student's League in New York City. He worked as an free-lance artist for Time, Inc. from 1946-1951 and then was hired as a staff artist/cartographer for Time Magazine. In the late 1960's he was promoted to head of the cartography department at Time, and he remained at the magazine until his retirement in 1973.
