Coaches workout tonight.
I got to Stanford and pulled into the parking lot right as the pack of runners were going off to do the warmup lap around the stadium. I threw my stuff in the trunk and ran to start my warm up. I know I was running too fast but I did slow down. This guy joined me (Kevin?) and finished the warmup with me. He was obviously faster than me but stayed with me. Being on a team and staying together is cool. I only walked a little bit. Much less than Saturday's warm up.
Then we gathered to do our stretching and do a 5k run (3.1 mile). Vince described the course and off we went. I made sure I started slow - which was at the end - and kept up pretty good. I passed a couple of people and didnt walk any until about 1/2 way into the run. At the turn point where we backtracked and then looped around the stadium, I followed these other people and we all did another loop around these buildings that wasnt on the course. By the time we got around and back to the stadium everyone else was done so we called it a run and we will assume we did around the right distance. Leave it to me to get lost on a short run. :-)
We then broke into groups and did sprinting and form work. It was pretty easy - I am not a fast runner. The sprints were pretty hard on my shins. Ice is my friend. After the sprints we did some strength training and announcements. So far I feel pretty good and hope I can stay healthy.
